The Bolt Video Player currently supports the following ad formats:

• Digital Video Ad Serving Template (VAST) 3.0 - universal XML schema for serving ads to digital video players, and describes expected video player behavior when executing VAST-­formatted ad responses
• Digital Video Player Ad Interface (VPAID) 2.0 - establishes a common interface between video players and ad units, enabling a rich interactive in-stream ad experiences

After signing up for either a Pro or Enterprise partners, you will be able to set up your ad tags. Once ad tags are properly configured, you will be able to set up pre-roll and mid-roll advertising. You can also set up cue points for when advertising will appear. By default, cue points are set to every 7 minutes.

The Bolt Video Player will play a wide variety of ads depending on several factors. Depending on the ad network called, user demographics, geolocation and browsing behavior of the user will be served targeted advertising.

An ad tag is a long string of text an advertiser provides to a publisher or ad network that calls the advertisers ad server for the purposes of displaying an advertisement. Below is an example of what an ad tag might look like:

Default Ad Tags:

• A fallback for all ad calls if no site specific ad tags are present

Website Specific Ad Tags:

• You can choose to use a different ad tag for each site
• For example, if you own www.videogames.com and www.movietrailers.com you would be able to use a different ad tag for each domain to serve different ads

Video Specific Ad Tags:

• You can choose to use a different ad tag for each video
• If your account has this feature enabled, you can paste your ad tags into the Video Specific Ad Tags section in the Edit Video tab of your video

Embed Specific Ad Tags:

• Embed Ad Tags allow Enterprise Publishers to utilize your own ad tags on a per embed basis
• For example, it is now possible to embed the same video in multiple locations while using different ad tags for each embed

Ad tag variables are text variables you can insert into an ad tag which tells the ad server specific information about the ads you want to be served. Bolt Video Player supports a number of variables that can be added to your VAST tag URL.

Pro and Enterprise Partners can submit their videos to our syndication "Sandbox", a space where publishers can share content that they wish to reach a broader audience. Other publishers can then browse the Sandbox and find great video content to feature on their websites.

There are two ways to make money from syndication:

• If you find a video in the Sandbox and place the video on your site, then you receive a cut of the ad revenue generated by people viewing that video on your site.
• If you share a video in the Sandbox, then you also receive a cut of ad revenue generated by people viewing your video on the sites of other publishers.
